New URL For Consuming The Harvest – Please Update

leave a comment »

Hi all 🙂

After much consideration I’ve decided to move Consuming The Harvest from WordPress and give it it’s very own url.

Thankfully I have been able to import all previous (to today) posts and comments up to and including the post “Of Flowers And Flowery Questions”.  Posts beyond that have been imported, but not comments as it was a copy and paste operation (to the new servers) after that post.

Please visit the new site and click on the RSS feed to get current updates into your preferred reader.  Also, anyone who has been kind enough to put me in their blogroll, please change the link to direct to the new site which is:  I believe in many cases the “http://” bit can be left off, but  possibly not it all.

I hope that everyone who has subscribed, just stopped by now and again and especially those of you who have commented in the past will continue to visit at Consuming The Harvest – the next generation.  There is still a little design work going on, but that is over and above regular postings.

See you there!  🙂

Hehay! I’ve Made The Front Page!

with 3 comments

Well, ok, it is a new site and fair enough, I really wasn’t “chosen” – it seems to be more of a random thing, and ever changing, but I was there!  Well, at least my baps were.  See?

The site is Look & Taste (formerly and you can get there by clicking on the screenshot above.

An Award And It’s Much Belated Passing On

leave a comment »

First, I’d like to apologise to Sam for not getting this posted and passed on sooner.  It was given to me just as we left on a fortnights holiday late last year (this, I suppose, explains the 08 date!) and became “lost in the shuffle” so to speak.  I, of course, kept it and put it in a safe place 😉 here on the iMac.  Upon returning from holiday there was the customary monstrous pile of email waiting to be sorted through and replied to, and my lovely award just kept getting pushed to the back of the pile.  Well, no more!

Thank you to Sam at Antics Of A Cycling Cook for giving me the Brillante Weblog Award, it was very thoughtful of you and much appreciated.  Now to get it passed on.  This bit took some time too, because I have lots and lots of Blog RSS feeds in NetNewsWire and quite a few “favourites” within those, it was hard to choose – so, in no particular order – ↓ here goes ↓

The Homely Year

Irina at Moscow Daily Photo

Catz’s Corner

Baking By Numbers

The Frugal Cook

Down To Earth

Somerset Seasons / Dorset Days

All of them are excellent blogs, each with their own individual style and content.  There is good food, wonderfully thrifty ideas, lovely photographs and much more so please go and have a look!

To accept and display your award simply do the following:

1.   When you receive a diamond, make a post about it on your blog.
2.   Name the blogger from whom you received it.
3.   Award the diamond to seven other bloggers.
4.   Link them.
5.   Tell them they received an award.

You can either display the award (simply copy and paste) within a post, in your sidebar or both.  There, that was a tough one, I wish the rules allowed for more than 7!  Let’s hope they all participate and pass it on – help make up for my lateness 😀

Have just finished the ‘About’ page (at least for now) – an hour or so of uploading for MIT and I shall be done!

I think.

Tweaks And Refinements

with one comment

Just about finished with the refit here on CTH, I am very happy with the more “minimalist” look, hopefully readers will appreciate it too.

I just have a few more things to do in the sidebar and then give the general settings a quick run through, something I haven’t done since setting up the blog.  With a bit of luck normal service (whatever that may be!) should resume by/before Friday.  🙂

Just remembered, need to rethink the “About” page too, hopefully Friday isn’t too optimistic!!

Doing A Bit Of A ‘Refit’

with 3 comments

Starting tomorrow and probably continuing for about a week, hopefully less, CTH is undergoing a refit of sorts.  I’ll be combining CTH with my other wordpress blog, and keeping the same URL that CTH now uses.  So, in short, CTH will still be here, in the same place but now including posts of a non-food nature too.

So posting is now suspended while I take a deep breath and begin tinkering in earnest, tomorrow!

Wishes For All Of My Foodie Network

with 4 comments

I’m “tri-posting” this to my blogs, so apologies to those of you who peruse more than one, and especially to my neighbours on Vox who will also end up getting the LoudTwitter round-up of all feeds.

I just want to use this post to wish everyone the very best holiday season.  If you’ve had a bad year, I hope the next one is a great improvement, and if you’ve had a good year, I hope it continues for many more to come.

Thanks for your emails and comments posted, and thank you too for your posts.  In Vox there is my neighbourhood and on the other two blogs the network of group associations and also my many RSS feeds from a truly varied group of others’ blogs.

It never ceases to amaze me how so many people from so many different areas of the world and such varied walks of life can all congregate at my desk, turning up on the computer at any time of the day or night, enriching my life in so many untold ways.

There have been many times where the posts from your blogs have touched my heart, made me think, made me wonder, made me take action of one kind or another, made me question the status quo or simply made me smile on a day when I felt it may not be possible.  Thank You.

Very best wishes to you and yours for health, happiness and a peace within yourselves.
